Middelpos
Middelpos
Middelpos was acquired by Dirk Jacobus Kotzé in 1879. This acquisition places the Kotzé family's ownership of Middelpos in the late 19th century.
The farm consequintly passed through several hands over the years, contributing to the rich agricultural tapestry of the region. In 2024, the Kotzé family proudly reacquired Middelpos, bringing it back into the fold and continuing a legacy of sustainable farming, community engagement, and premium wine grape cultivation.
The farm currently produces Shiraz, Merlot, Touriga, Sezão, and Tinta Barrocca, all of which contribute depth, color, and unique complexity, particularly suited for blending and fortified wines. Together, these cultivars reflect the versatility of the Piketberg terroir, supporting both premium red wines and distinctive blends with a strong regional identity.
